Kind Natured

Today when I popped in to Boots to get my lunchtime meal deal something in the shampoo section caught my eye. A delightful new range of natural shampoos and conditioners called Kind Natured in fabulously hip packaging and at great prices. I was so happy to see that Boots was finally starting to offer natural, paraben and sulphate free options for shampoos and conditioners, this feels like such a positive move in the right direction. Hopefully supermarkets will follow suit and people like me won't have to search high and low for natural and chemical free products. Good job Boots!!

Zero waste fashion project

I follow Love your clothes on Pinterest and as I was looking through my feed this morning I saw this post about their zero waste fashion project with the Salvation Army and a team of fashion designers. Here's what the project is about in their own words:

"To show what’s possible with discarded clothing, we teamed up with the Salvation Army and enlisted the help of two Scottish designers. Armed with up to 150 kilos each of donated clothing from the Salvation Army, our designers were asked to transform the items into couture-worthy collections and prove just what can be created with pre-loved clothing.

Glasgow-based print specialists Aimee Kent and Black Cherry Studio have now completed a 12-week residency with Zero Waste Scotland producing two dynamic collections from pre-loved, donated clothing. By repurposing and upcycling the unwanted garments, our designers have created collections that are completely unrecognisable from their original state."

I'm so inspired by this idea and am starting to think about getting my sewing machine down and upcycling some of my tired pieces of clothing :)  Could you do the same? Pink Parcels

I've just discovered Pink Parcels, a company dedicated to making our monthlies more bearable. You sign up for £12.95 a month, tell them your dates and they send you a "Pink Parcel". Included in the parcel is a supply of your chosen tampons or pads and then a little selection of goodies to cheer you up and get you through those few days of bleugh.

I'm definitely thinking of giving this a go, I would definitely spend £13 over the course of my period on chocolate, magazines and supplies and this just seems like such a delightful thing to have in your life :)

Upcycled pegs

Thank you to my dear friend Pinterest and all the wonderful creative people on there for this fab idea of using old magazines to decorate wooden pegs. I've been happily going through my old company magazines and finding interesting patterns, textures and the odd vintage cat to cut and paste on to my pegs. I've done them in sets of 5 and am thinking they're going to make wonderful stocking fillers :)
